Plenty to see and do in the Liverpool region

Those who make one of the many Liverpool hotels their base during a business trip or break inevitable find a rich scene of activities in the city. Liverpool is well known for being home to some top class attractions, some the best picks in shopping and a nightlife of legendary status.

Outside of the London region, Liverpool is home to the largest collection of galleries and museums. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage City, famous for a mixture of classic and contemporary architecture.

Liverpool hotels are a superb base from which to go out and enjoy some of the best shopping, perhaps in the relatively new Liverpool One complex, as the city is known for its exclusive boutiques and quirky vintage shops

Fine dining experiences, fast food and Michelin stars

While Liverpool has many restaurants and cafes in which to dine, a lot of hotels in and around the city double up as restaurants too. A quiet evening meal is something for guests to look forward to after being on their feet all day shopping or enjoying Liverpool’s vast culture.

During a day in the region, visitors will come across many different types of restaurant offering everything from fine dining experiences to international cuisine. Some of the restaurants in the city offer produce like Knowsley lamb and Wirral watercress. There are also French bistros to get a tasted of the continent and Wirral is also home to one of the first Michelin starred restaurants.

Visit the Liverpool waterfront

A trip to Liverpool is not complete without heading down to take in the sights of the Liverpool Waterfront. One of the most iconic scenes in the North West, visitors can take part in a sing-along in the Beatles Story or take an evening walk along the riverside.

Here, they can also enjoy contemporary art in the Tate Liverpool, interact at the Museum of Liverpool or take in the Merseyside Maritime Museum. The more adventurous can take a trip on the Yellow Duck or enjoy the stunning views the easy way – via the legendary Mersey Ferry.

Liverpool’s history is defined by its status as a shipping port, and there are three docks, along with the Pier Head, to visit while in this part of the world. These are Albert Dock, Princess Dock and King Dock, and the Pier Head is home to such stunning architecture as the Royal Liver Building.

There are many first class Liverpool hotels that are within easy reach of all that the city has to offer, including the Woodcote House hotel.
